In digital audio playback, timing is everything. The S.M.S.L G1 is a reference-grade 10MHz Master Clock Generator engineered to synchronize your high-end digital audio system. By providing a single, highly stable, and temperature-controlled time-base to your CD transport, digital interface, and DAC, the G1 virtually eradicates digital timing errors (jitter). This unification results in a dramatic improvement in stereo imaging, high-frequency naturalness, low-frequency definition, and overall organic realism.
Imported SC-Cut 10MHz OCXO Clock Source
Standard crystal oscillators drift with room temperature fluctuations, inducing subtle audio degradation. The S.M.S.L G1 solves this by utilizing an imported, communication-grade SC-cut 10MHz OCXO (Oven Controlled Crystal Oscillator). The oscillator is housed in a dedicated, double constant-temperature insulated oven, shielding it from external thermal influences. Calibrated with high-precision factory software, each unit achieves an incredible frequency accuracy of within ±3 ppb (parts per billion).
Farad Supercapacitor & Toroidal Linear Power Supply
Timing accuracy is highly sensitive to power-supply noise. The G1 incorporates a dual-stage, ultra-low-noise linear power supply. It features an imported, premium Noratel toroidal transformer with exceptionally low magnetic leakage, multiple linear regulators, and a power EMI filter socket to screen out grid interference. Crucially, a massive Farad supercapacitor array serves as a local energy reservoir, delivering incredibly clean, silent, and instantaneous current directly to the crystal oscillator for unparalleled phase-noise performance.
Four Isolated Outputs with 50Ω / 75Ω Impedance Matching
The G1 offers four isolated 10MHz reference outputs via professional BNC connectors, delivering a robust 3.3Vp-p square wave. Impedance mismatch in clock cables can cause electrical signal reflections and timing distortion. To prevent this, S.M.S.L features selectable 50Ω or 75Ω impedance matching for each channel, allowing you to perfectly match the input impedance of different digital audio brands for pristine, distortion-free synchronization.
Patented Adaptive Voltage & Dual Power Modes
Housed in a solid, CNC-machined one-piece aluminum chassis, the G1 supports dual power modes. It can be powered by standard AC (100V-240V) using S.M.S.L's patented adaptive automatic voltage switching technology, or an external 9V-15V DC linear power supply. On the front panel, an elegant status indicator provides a 10-minute warm-up countdown (AC mode only), signifying when the internal oven has reached optimal thermal equilibrium and peak stability.
